Golfers who can claim accuracy and "course management" skills will have a definite advantage on this nine. The Sand Hills 9 meanders through mature trees on the high ridges of the property. The sense of peace and the spectacular scenery make facing the challenges a pleasure. There are three Par 3 holes on this nine, rendering it a par 35. Each of the Par threes are unique unto themselves and the course still provides a good test of golf. The subsoil is about 80% sand, making for good drainage and a healthy environment for turf.

The finishing hole on this nine is a Par 4 dog leg left. A drive to "position A" leaves you with a panoramic view, and a downhill shot to the green (IF you can maintain your concentration). The first of the three nines to be completed, the Sand Hills 9 offers echoes of old fashioned course design, with modern day techniques employed to keep playing conditions at their best.
